  • University of California, Davis came in at #1 on the list of best value colleges for women in STEM, with 56% female enrollment and 29% of the student body specializing in STEM. (Forbes)
  • UC Davis ranked #3 among top 50 engineering schools for percentage of female faculty. (US News, 2014)
  • UC Davis has the highest percentage of STEM female undergraduates of any other UC campuses with over 51 percent for the past five academic years. As of 2014-2015, 54 percent of undergraduate STEM majors are female at UC Davis. (UC Davis Budget & Institutional Analysis)
  • In the overall national rankings, UC Davis was listed as the 16th best university in the nation, one of six UC campuses to be rated in the top 20. According to Washington Monthly, these ratings are based on a school’s contribution to the public good in three broad categories:

– Research (producing cutting-edge scholarship and PhDs)
– Service (encouraging students to give something back to their country).

Sustainability at UC Davis

  • In the annual GreenMetric rankings published by the University of Indonesia, an international survey of over 400 colleges placed UC Davis #3 in the world for its leadership in environmental sustainability through teaching, research, campus lifestyle, and management. Read more
  • The University of California, a national leader in sustainability, has pledged to become carbon neutral by 2025.
    • A newly constructed SunPower 16.3-megawatt (AC) solar power plant, located on a 62-acre site south of Interstate 80. The largest of its kind in the UC system and on a college campus in northern America, the plant will generate an estimated 14 percent of the campus’s electricity needs. The plant is part of UC Davis’s plan to obtain 60 percent of its electricity from renewable, carbon-free, sources by 2017.
  • UC Davis faculty and staff designed and tested the nation’s first designated bikeways. Read more
